Why students use IPTV instead of cable
Cable needs an installer, a contract and usually a landlord's permission. None of that works for an eight-month lease. Four people each buying a one-device plan costs $76 a month. One 4-device annual plan is $199 for the year — about $4.15 per person per month. That is the single biggest saving available to a student household, and it is why most shared houses buy the device tier rather than the term.

Campus Wi-Fi is the one real problem
University networks are congested, often throttled, and sometimes block streaming protocols outright. If your residence Wi-Fi struggles with Netflix in the evening it will struggle with live television too, and that is the network rather than the service. Test it on the free trial before you pay — in your actual room, at the actual time you would watch.
When not to buy this. If you are on campus Wi-Fi with no wired option and it already buffers other video, do not subscribe expecting a different result. We would rather tell you that now than process a refund in week two.
